Microgreens are young vegetable greens harvested 7–21 days after germination, once the first true leaves appear. Unlike sprouts (which are eaten seed, root, and all within 2–5 days), microgreens are grown in light, develop chlorophyll, and only the stem and leaves are eaten. They offer more complex flavors and significantly higher nutrient density.
Our floating platforms use a deep water culture hydroponic system built on buoyant rafts. The plants' roots hang directly in nutrient-rich water that's continuously oxygenated and recirculated. This eliminates the need for soil, uses 95% less water than traditional farming, and allows us to grow year-round on urban waterways.
Yes! We offer same-day delivery within a 15-mile radius of our Harbor District farm. Orders placed before 10 AM are harvested and delivered by 4 PM the same day. For locations outside our delivery zone, we offer pickup at the farm and several partner locations throughout the city.
While our hydroponic system doesn't qualify for traditional USDA organic certification (which requires soil), we use 100% organic seeds, no synthetic pesticides, no herbicides, and only food-grade organic nutrients in our water system. Our growing practices exceed organic standards in every measurable way.
Absolutely! Our farm is open for visits Tuesday through Sunday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Walk-ins are welcome for our observation deck and farm shop. For a guided tour of the floating platforms, we recommend booking a workshop or scheduling a private tour through our contact page.
When stored properly in the refrigerator (35–40°F) in their original packaging, our microgreens stay vibrant and fresh for 7–10 days. For maximum freshness, keep them dry and only wash immediately before use. Many of our chef partners tell us our greens last longer than any other supplier's.
